Early
I know this is a day early for the 4th of July, but I don't know what kind of time I may have tomorrow or not. So, Happy 4th everyone!
I am not one much for fireworks, at least from a noise standpoint. I know I am strange because loud music on the radio or other device, I have no trouble with. Fireworks "ka-booms" scare the liver out of me. Maybe it's just the suddenness. Whatever it is, I've always been this way for as long as I can remember. And what's funny is that I was just singing the Schoolhouse Rock "Fireworks" a couple of days ago (a lesson on the Declaration of Independence).
No one I know could ever know just how bloody the wars were with the "redcoats" of England. I am sure there was quite a bit of bloodshed. Yet, for freedom sake, bloodshed practically seems to be an irony. It's a necessary evil. Of course, the world, unfortunately "needs an enima!"
Dictators in several countries simply don't belong.
I remember several years ago when I got into a discussion with a friend regarding the United States involvement in wars in the Middle East. I think the US should keep out of such things, but I was reminded that by getting our people involved, it tells our "enemy-countries" that we are watching. In the meantime, our soldiers are being killed along the way. I know that is why they signed up to the military, but the mere look that we are making preparations and sending troops IS an invitation for conflict. That's just the way I see it.
Case and point, the recent military strike in Iran supposedly wiping out a facility where nuclear weapons were being made. Who did it? The United States. Is Iran going to retaliate? History says yes. AND more people will die (civilians and military alike). Will it happen soon? Maybe not. What about threatening Hamas in their feud with Israel? What about Ukkraine and Russia? I believe minus Vladimir around, there is a better chance for peace. As I've said, that's not on me. UGH!
