Who?

 Who, O Lord?

Who can lead this vast people?

Who can lead such a people, many who have turned from you?

They have forgotten the great and terrible ways that you came to their help in days of old.

They have forgotten that it was you who led them out of Egypt,

                                                                                                  Babylon,

                                                                                                  Jerusalem.

They have forgotten that if was you who not only began this holy Church, but you who has continued the work of evangelizing people of every nation, race, and tongue, even when the Church was shrouded in darkness for so long.

It was you, O beloved Savior, who not only entrusted the Church to St. Peter, your first Vicar on earth, but to so many men and women through the centuries in Asia, Africa, and Europe, and eventually across the oceans so vast.

        You, O Lord,

you have never abandoned your people

and your divine providence is needed more than ever.

Male and Female, you created us, O God, in your Most Holy image

                Slave and free

                Jew and Greek

L G B T Q -- all in your image and you love us equally.

Now, O Lord,

Send another who will advance your people to return to you

        To be one Church

To be the children of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob -- your chosen ones

To be the people you promised to never destroy again after the Great Flood

Send someone who will be unifying to bring us home

to the Garden of Eden

Paradise
