Questions and prayer

My God,

How long will you allow this nonsense in the world which you created to be good?  Everything around us is good, yet your highest creation - human beings - your creation to which you gave free will - continue to mistreat not only other human beings, but your creation of the world around us.  I am not merely talking about natural resources, which is another topic for another blog, but humans CHOOSING to create viruses that kill other human beings; humans CHOOSING to oppress and put the lives of others in jeopardy; humans CHOOSING to use immoral tactics to get what they want and not what the others NEED.

I have not been able to follow the logic of "leaders" of nations.  Human life is not valued by so many of those "leaders."  What happened to checks and balances?  Granted, many of the world's nations have been in the same disarrayed government situations for decades or even centuries.  Why should the people in Russia have to continue to suffer at the dictatorship of a warped human mind?  Why do people anywhere in the world, first or third world countries alike, have to pay so much money for basic foods and drinks?  How long can the world's water supply remain a good thing?  How many mutated species of marine life have come to exist in the last 100 years?

And what about outer space?  I sometimes wonder if I should have continued my original dream and studied astronomy.  Yes.  Most people don't know that about me.  Baseball, music, and my faith have been what I have called my passions in my life, but studying the stars and other celestial bodies or events shows more of your hope and design than the chaos on our earth.  I am not upset about being alive by any means.  It's just that while I know that outer space is not meant to be lived in, or you would have given us that knowledge by now, from a distance it still seems much more peaceful than the world.  Yet, you also know that I find it comical for so many scientists trying to figure out the origin of the universe.

When I watch some of the tv shows about space and physics and astrophysics, I am sometimes overwhelmed by the variety of names for particles and subatomic particles, anti-matter and dark matter, and how scientists can tell us what elements and gases are the make up of nebulae over thousands of light years away.  Yet, those same scientists could practically care less about people starving in the world -- how can we CHOOSE to make a difference toward the needs of our brothers and sisters around the world?  I know climates have their benefits and drawbacks when it comes to growing food.  I understand that sort of thing.  However,...

The questions could go on and on and on........and only you, my God, have those answers.

Trust.  Faith. Compassion.  Mercy.  Kindness.

Open us all to know you, and to be satisfied with you alone.
